A Helping Hand Makes All the Difference

Community Resources for Independence is happy to lend a helping hand by offering a variety of intellectual disability resources supported living services in Pennsylvania for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families experience challenges every day that stem from living in a society built for “normal” people. You are constantly denied opportunities to participate in the community and even find yourself struggling to meet needs within your own home. But most of the time, all you need is a little bit of help, and CRI is happy to lend a hand. We maintain countless community-based supported living services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to restore their independence in the home and beyond.

Living a Healthy, Fulfilling Life Through Inclusion

At CRI, we promote healthy living and inclusion. We know that it can be a struggle to feel included in the community, which makes trying new things or participating in activities difficult. Our staff will help you participate in your favorite activities and interests, such as going to parks, walking on trails, Zumba, and exercise classes. We encourage social activities like meeting up with friends and will teach appropriate social boundaries and interaction. We can also help you find rewarding volunteer opportunities to give back to the community. We serve as a link between you and the community to help remove boundaries and boost confidence so that you become a part of the community you live in. We believe these types of activities are necessary to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
