Expansion Program
Description: As a result of a needs assessment survey sent to all consumers in our CIL service area, CRI established an Expansion Program to provide additional services those consumers in our CIL area. These services include:
- Accessibility – Building ramps or other home modification and equipment.
- Interpreting – Scheduling an interpreter for meetings.
- Wraparound (Erie County only) – Additional attendant care for those that are terminally ill.
- Homemaker – Household assistance with cleaning for those that do not qualify for the attendant care program, live alone or with someone that is physically unable to assist.
- Housing/Moving – Assistance with moving expenses or first months rent.
- Special Medical Supplies – Emergency supply kit with such items as Depends™, wound dressing materials, catheters and more.
- Legal (Erie County only) – Offered for initial legal counsel regarding landlord disputes, divorce, child custody issues and credit problems.
- Hardship/Emergency – Emergency situations that do not fall into any other categories already addressed.
Funding for this program is limited and individuals may apply for a particular service through their Service Coordinator/Case Manager. Individuals are served on a priority needs basis and the Executive Director has final approval.

Interpreter Referral
Description: CRI provides qualified sign language interpreting services for people who are deaf or hard of hearing by referring the most qualified, professional interpreters to serve in legal, medical, government, mental health, educational, employment, and social service settings.
Counties Offered: Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Venango and Warren.
Adult Autism Waiver - Supports Coordination
Description: The Pennsylvania Adult Autism Waiver program is designed to provide community-based services and supports to meet the specific needs of adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Eligibility includes:
- Age 21 or older.
- Risk of institutionalization in an Intermediate Care Facility.
- Resident of Pennsylvania.
- Income below 300% of the current Federal Benefit Rate.
CRI is a provider under the Supports Coordination service under this Waiver. This service includes: Service Planning Assessments, Individual Support Plan (ISP) Development, and ISP Monitoring. CRI is also a provider under the Community Transition Service under this Waiver. This service includes transitioning an adult with ASD from an institution (ICF/MR, ICF/ORC, nursing facilities and psychiatric hospitals) to private residence where the person is directly responsible for his or her living expenses.
Enrollment into the Adult Autism Waiver Program is done by contacting the Bureau of Autism Service (BAS) by phone 1-866-539-7689. More program information can be found at www.autisminpa.org.

Accessibility Education
Description: CRI is dedicated to the independent living movement. Accessibility is a major barrier that people with disabilities face daily. CRI provides practical advice and training on issues involving the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Examining and explaining the impact of the ADA on the community represents a large part of our efforts. We will consult with business owners and municipalities to explain the terminology associated with the ADA and how it affects their operations. CRI can assist in producing ADA building audits of your facility. This audit is done for a fee, depending on your facility.

Lending An Ear Program
Description: The Lending An Ear Program provides assistance to individuals with hearing loss that have low to moderate income and do not qualify for traditional purchasing options. In a collaborative effort with Affordable Care Hearing Aid, a discounted hearing aid is available for qualifying individuals. The average hearing aid can cost between $2,000 and $5,000, but with this program hearing aids are available under $1,000. Funding for the hearing aid is available at a limited basis.
