Community Resources for Independence
(CRI) serves as an information bank.
The CRI staff gathers information on the following resources in order to
better serve our consumers:
- housing
- adaptable equipment
- attendant care
- transportation
- benefits
- education and training
- jobs placement
- advocacy
- any other issues that relate to people with disabilities.
Once the information is gathered and
processed, it is available to people with physical disabilities, their family
and friends, or other concerned individuals.
On first contact with CRI, the person is put in touch with the information
and referral specialist. After learning a little about the individual's
needs, the specialist passes the information on to the case manager. The
case manager contacts the individual to decide how CRI can best help him
or her. If we cannot provide services to the individual, the information
and referral specialist makes a direct referral to the proper agency.
