
Since 1984, Community Resources
for Independence (CRI) has been funded by Erie county to
provide Life Skills Education and Employment Services
to eligible people with disabilities in Erie county. To be eligible
for admission these services, a person must meet the following requirements:
- Be between 18 and 59 years of
age.
- Have a physical disability.
- Have a PA Medicaid card or meet
H.S.D.F. monthly income requirements.

Life Skills Education consists of five areas of training:

Consumer affairs

Employment services consists of five areas of training:

Assessment of work potential

Diagnostic assessment referral

Career planning

Referral and enrollment in existing programs

Transportation:
-
The goal of the transportation service is to provide transportation to
people with disabilities working on goals in Life Skills Education and
Employment Services. Transportation is limited due to funds for this
service, the number of rides provided is dependent on the individual's particular
needs.
The program is limited to 65 participants. When program is at capacity, referrals are made to services provided by the Center for Independent Living at Community Resources for Independence.
