Personal Care Attendant (PCA101)

Location: Erie
The PCA provides assistance with the activities of daily living for consumers residing in their communities.
- Assist in getting a consumer up and dressed, personal hygiene
- Assist with undressing and ready for bed
- Assist with transferring from bed to wheelchair/shower chair and vice-versa when required
- Assist with bowel and bladder routine, which include: suppositories, enema, digital stimulation, ostomy care and catheterization
- Assist in preparing for and taking a shower/bed bath
- Turn and positioning during the night or when required
- Performing decubitus ulcer care as prescribed by doctor or nurse
- Assist with medication as directed by consumers or resident coordinator
- Food preparation and feeding when required
- Must be able to take direction from consumer on how to provide care or complete care routines
- Must be willing to attend training as needed to learn the proper care techniques
Minimum requirements include:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Drivers License/Vehicle
- C.N.A License or 6 months experience
- Must be able to transfer a person of approximately 200 lbs by either two person or pivot transfer
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to work flexible hours if needed.
